Because I belong with them. My sisters and I were fretting over getting a family picture done while everyone was in town. Chris is in Afghanistan, stuff came up, our photographer went out of town, so all in all it didn't happen... at least not professionally. But I still love this picture and I know life doesn't get much better than this! Totally us. The Coil fam.

I think Porter looked over and saw where the wild things are... "And when he came to the place where the wild things were, they roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth, and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws." ( I can still hear my dad in his deep , change of tone reading voice, say that line to me. Whenever he picked out the book to read when I was little, he picked this one.) Very impressed that Porter got his veins to stick out in his neck just for a picture. And Shay you look way too cute for a crazy face picture, you must have not seen those wild things.
Oh how I wish to have a child's imagination again...But I guess that's one of the joys of being a mother, an aunt, a grandma, or an old person... we have these little people in our lives to remind us of the sometimes not so real, but yet perfect, loving, playful, innocent, sweet, and never-ending happy times that we can dream of, or through the eyes of a child, that we can live . And that makes us the luckiest.

Reagarding Porter and the baseball video. He soooo could have made it home, but they have base coaches on every base, and of course they were not paying attention, so the other kids on base were not running, he had no where to go. Stinks, but another time. You know you are more than welcome to come to any of his games, next Tuesday night is the next one....
I'm the luckiest, because I get to use the excuse I'm too old to do somethings which means I get to set back and just observe. I had so much fun just watching everyone be together. I could never pick my favorite moment, because I have so many.
I'm so grateful that you recognize the blessings of being in our family. We are so very lucky!
