70

70!!!! Do you know why that number is significant today?! 70 degrees was the outside temperature Caleb and I got to bask in today! Caleb and I went away for lover's weekend to Vegas. It was perfect. It was exactly the emotional and mental break I've been NEEDING for way too long now. My blog has been neglected for the past two months. Noticed? Yep I'm pretty sure that is because besides sleeping hours, I am home for only one hour Monday through Friday. Life is crazy. And I'm not trying to complain because I know I brought all of this on myself, and I really REALLY do love the EMT class I'm taking right now, and I know it will only make our future better being that finding a teaching job in the Jordan and Davis school districts for next year is impossible, but seriously a break was much needed. So we escaped. Escaped to vegas out of all places, and it was good. It was Caleb's first time going to Vegas. We got into Vegas Friday night when it was dark. As soon as went around the last bend just north of Vegas and could suddenly see the strip and all of the lights, Caleb's excitement was just like a little boys. It was fun. We stayed at the Rio. I totally recommend it. It was very clean and the room was extremely nice for the decent price Caleb found. The sheets were pure white, which is what I prefer in a hotel room and it smelled normal. We had a fun time visiting many restaurants, walking a long the strip in the sun, watching the Olympics and playing rounds of farkle. I love the random conversations Caleb and I have when we are in the car for six hours just the two of us. He is the perfect Valentine for me and I'm the luckiest to have him.
Caleb also turned 25 this week, which means it was three years ago on his b-day that we met. I went to his surprise birthday party at MIDNIGHT, I guess he was worth the late night, and officially met him. He then thought he needed to date all of the other girls in the ward before me. Two months later Caleb game me a shot at things. This is how it all went down for those who read this and don't know the story. Ok so I know that excludes all of you... but I'm going to write our love story anyways because I've never officially put it on here and it's fun... Pretending that the two had just gotten in a huge fight, Elliot threw Caleb's keys out of their third story window in their apartment so that Caleb would have to go and pick them up. (Caleb had just mentioned to Elliot that he thought I was cute, so Elliot being the wise man he is had a solution for this.) I had just gotten back from track practice and was sitting out on the grass in between our apt buildings eating a slurpee by myself. The keys just happened to land by me, and Caleb just happened to get my number, a long with all of my roommates who showed up in the middle of our conversation. I'll never forget the first thing he asked me... (As I was drinking my slurppe) Caleb said, sweet slurpee, where'd you get that. My reply... uhh 7-11. I think he was nervous. Anyways, we went on a date the next Friday and the rest is history. A year later I finally convinced Caleb that I was the girl he had been dreaming about his whole life and he agreed!

Perfect Weather! I don't remember what hotel this fountain is at. Some cute couple asked us to take their picture and then they offered to take ours. Glad they did because it ended up being one of the only pictures we have of us together from the trip.
Tastes Around the World. The Coca-Cola Factory has 16 different Coke flavors from around the world to taste. It was interesting.
Caleb loves the look of the NY-NY Hotel. And he's going to try and sell this picture he took with his mad photography skills.
And I love the Belagio...

We went to the Hard Rock Cafe... also a first for Caleb. There was a beautiful black dress Brittany had worn to some type of awards thing. I thought of you Shay!
Chillin. My favorite part of the trip. He was the perfect driver for the perfect passenger. Happy valentine's day to everyone! We love you all!
Don't remember the last time my mind was stress free. This felt nice. Bring it on 7th graders.
And per Caleb's request... He really wants the picture of his lion in here. He took three pictures of the lion on separate occasions. They must have a thing. Just for you babe.

Brit's outfit has nothing on your new outfit. Love yours more! The self-portrait shows a relaxed, calm and little bit sleepy-eyed 7th grade teacher. Perfect break for both of you.

I am so jealous of you two, and my parents in So CAL this past weekend! Those are very beautiful pictures. I noticed you were wearing long sleeves in some of them. Were you cold in 70 degree weather, Lauren? You ARE always cold!
