THIS IS A VERY VERY LONG POST, BUT I WROTE THIS SO CALEB AND I HAVE RECORD OF ONE OF THE MOST FUN TRIPS EVER, SO I UNDERSTAND IF YOU DON'T READ THIS BUT THANK ANYONE WHO DOES...So remember how I was way excited about Spring Break but had nothing more to say about what we were going to do for Spring Break?! Well here's the story, from the very beginning. A while back Caleb and I were at Sarah's and Sarah asked us how Shay was doing. My response sadly enough was I don't know, I haven't talked to her in a while. So on the way home that night, Caleb started talking about how much he really missed Andy, Shay, Porter and Carlee. He then expressed the idea that instead of going on a cruise (we had been saving up to buy cruise tickets for our one year) he'd rather go visit my brother and his fam. I was so excited because I had really REALLY been missing Shay and Andy and would even get very emotional at times because I missed them sooo much. And I was especially excited because Tessa is going onto 9 months and we had never meant her. So long story short, Caleb bought plane tickets to Ohio. We thought it would be most fun to surprise Shay and just show up on her doorstep and ring the doorbell. (We wanted to surprise Andy too but being that Caleb is not 25, we had no way to rent a car, so Andy got to be our taxi to and from the airport.) I talked to Shay on the phone one time after we bought the tickets and she kept saying how she was homesick and was missing everyone, so I hurried and ended the conversation before I spilled the beans. Mom, Aubrey, Erin, and D also all knew of our trip and talked to Shay several times but, their lips were sealed and Shay never caught on to the hints that they sometimes couldn't hold back because of excitement. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MY SISTERS, MY MOM, AND I COULD KEEP A SECRET LIKE THAT, BUT WE DID IT!!! So moving onto the trip... I arrived to Ohio first (Yes Caleb and I were on completely different airlines, like I said, Caleb booked the tickets and I'm still not exactly sure how that happened.) and the surprise went something like this. Andy picked me up and when we arrived home he told me to wait in the car for a minute while he went in to distract the kids so that when I rang the doorbell Shay would answer, not Porter and Carlee. So I rang the doorbell and Porter and Carlee answered and their faces were priceless... the first thing Porter said was "where'd you come from and where's Caleb?!" They were so excited Andy had to contain their excitement so they didn't ruin the surprise. Andy told me Shay was feeding Tessa up in Porter's room so I ran upstairs. By this point Shay knew a visitor was there but she thought it was one of Andy's friends or something. I walked into P-man's room and said hi. Shay looked up and casually said hi. Then she paused for a second and then the tears started flowing. I then got a much needed hug from her and finally got to kiss Tessa's cute soft cheeks. I then proceeded to tell her a story about something and when I finished she said, "What did you just say because I really wasn't listening because I can't believe you're here!" So the surprise was a success and the trip was an even more success! We had way too much fun. Andy is my hero. He was at the hospital every night until ONE IN THE MORNING but would still come home and want to play a game of Ticket to Ride, tell us crazy stories about the E.R., and then stay up some more to play Mario Kart with Caleb. Shay was a good sport to let us invade her house unexpectedly for a whole week and eat their food. It was good to finally just get to talk to her, stay up late and eat milkshakes with her, and laugh with her about the stupid things we always laugh about. Caleb and I couldn't get enough of Porter, Carlee, and Tessa! Caleb became a professional at putting them to bed as they always asked for him to tell them their bed time stories. Then Carlee would wake him up early the next morning to play with her. He was always so excited to wake up and start another day of fun games, laughter, and make-believe. The trip was great, the only thing that could've made the trip better would've been to have the whole fam together. Carlee said to me at least once a day something like, "Lala you forgot to bring Grandma-Great!" or "Why didn't you put Grandma Kaylee in your suitcase?" and "Can you put my Utah cousins on a plane?" And just for the record, I'm happy to say Carlee still has her cute little southern girl accent, and yes Caleb and I still thought it was priceless. It was so fun to get to see Tessa's personality. I don't remember her crying once and she would always laugh really hard anytime she saw Caleb. Porter is growning into a little man. He's smart, is still soooo nice and has his tender heart. Ohio was fun, and it was so good to finally get to see the people who we've been missing most.

I'm glad you guys had such a fun trip! We are lucky to live close to you and Caleb so we can see you all the time! I'll just take credit for the whole spring break idea since my question started your planning! Just kidding! Hope your interview went well! I know you are awesome, and you will get the job if it's the right thing for you!
I read the whole thing, twice! Do I get a special reward for that? Actually, I enjoyed reading so much the first time, I had to read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything. I loved the pics too. That Tessa is something. I know why she loved Caleb so, he is really just a big kid at heart. He will be an awesome dad. Your dad and I love how much you kids love each other and we are thrilled with how supportive and interested you are in each others lives. If I had a choice between a cruise on a ship or a game with Carlee, I would always choose Carlee. love you, mom
Thanks for the special post. You guys will never know how much it means to me that you did it all on your own, I am sooo used to finding everyone's tickets with little follow through. You are the best, we love and miss you so much and I so happy to hear that TTR is a big hit. Thanks for everything.
