my man is 24!

caleb had a birthday yesterday. we spent the weekend up north and had a great time. saturday the birthday boy was spoiled by my mom. she made ribs and cheesy potatos. she also made the extra effort to go all the way to nielson's for frozen custard, our favorite. d made a yummy salad and aubrey brought a fab cake. we spent the evening chasing sam and emery, playing settlers, laughing at dumb things (sweedish fish and highway patrolman on bikes), talking about the future, and reflecting on the past. sunday was just as good. i made taco salad and took it up to the perks. it was fun to see how big alanna is getting. the boys were full of energy as usual. sarah spoiled caleb with a chocolate cake. caleb received some fun presents, but he said the best present he's ever gotten is me. so i was thinking... it was two years ago that i first met caleb. i was invited to his surprise party that took place at his apartment at midnight! it was fun, but every other girl in the ward showed up so i figured nothing would ever happen. well we all know the ending to that situation and the beginning to this fairytale. caleb is such a blessing in my life. i love having good night kisses, but especially love not having to say goodbye at night. i love falling asleep next to him, and hate it when he falls asleep first. (it takes me a long LONG L O N G time if he's not awake with me.) i love it when he grabs my hand. i love that he is working very hard so that our family can be blessed in the future. i love his laugh. i love his gentleness when he holds my new nieces and nephews. i love the way he chases little kids around. i love what he brings to life. life is bliss.
picutres of my birthday man

this is the bike jersey my madre bought him. oh, can you tell it's red? why you ask?! because caleb got accepted to the u! he starts the engineering program this fall. finally the end to provo/orem, the beginning to salt lake. i can't wait.

mike and erin always know how to create a good laugh. they found these for caleb. the card said "we decided to get you a lip, ear, and nose reduction for your birthday!" ha ha, good one. and just as a side note, the card in this picture is the card my dad gave to caleb. it says, "good news, we finally found some volunteers to jump out of your cake naked." then it shows an old lady standing in a birthday cake. that made us laugh too.

and this is a picture of his best present ever. us. the end.

February Already?!

January has come and gone, and I don't know where time is going. It seems like there is not enough hours in a day. This semester is CRAZY for both Caleb and I. I somehow managed to take 19 credit hours again and Caleb's classes are hard to say the least. :) So maybe time going by fast isn't such a bad thing after all. I just hope it finds a way to slow down once the summer comes. Yesterday the temperature got up into the fifties. I almost wore shorts because it felt so warm.
January events:
1- Thanks to Kylee and Tim, Caleb and I became obsessed with the game "Settler's of Catan." That officially declares us as nerds. We love it so much that we play just the two of us, even though it technically is at least a 3 player game.
2- We rode our bikes outside for the first time.
3- I crashed on my bike for the first time and Caleb laughed really hard. He laughed so hard he couldn't even pick the bike up off of me.
4- We attended the most ELABORATE wedding we've ever been to and probably the most elaborate wedding we will ever go to. It was such a beautiful, fun day.
5- I made a new friend, Kristen. I hope to be friends with her for a long time, and plan to be.
6- Caleb applied for the University of Utah!!!
7- I started looking at housing up in Salt Lake! I am finally starting to see the end of the "Provo/Orem Chapter" in our lives.
8- I had a fun girls night out with mom, the sistas, and the nieces. We went to the musical "The Wizard of Oz." I missed Shay, Carlee, Erin, and Emery. D and I laughed so hard we were crying.
9- Caleb gave me money to buy a new shirt, I came home with two new pairs of red high heels. Figures.
10- I graduated from Sunbeams to CTR 7. I learned I do not know how to control six 7 year olds at one time. I pray I can control thirty 13 year olds at one time.
11- I started my last semester of my bachelor's degree!
12- I registered for the Woman of Steel Triathlon.
13- I was able to watch my dad perform a wedding. First time since I've been married. Neat experience!
14- Samantha turned two! Porter turned five! Madison turned nine! Mom turned... I don't know! Amelia was born!
