Hmmmm, where to start?!

Okay so I started a post a whole week ago about the triathlon I competed in. I was planning to finish that post sometime soon after that, but oh wait, I have seriously not been at my house except to sleep until now. So here goes the story of my life, or more like the story of the past 10 days in which a lot has happened!
First, I competed with my sister Aubrey and my sis-in-law Sarah in the woman of steel triathlon. We had so much fun and the weather was perfect. Throughout my life my dad was always my #1 fan. Through my 8 year soccer career and 10 year running career, I can count on one hand the number of times he wasn't there telling me to run a little harder and coaching me to do a little better. This tri happened to be one of those times. Fortunately for me, Caleb took on that role and stepped up to the plate. He probably got just as good of a workout as I did because he ran from point to point finding that perfect place in which he could cheer me on and give me the encouragement I needed to push a little harder. Caleb had fun too, so much fun that he signed up to do a triathlon with me in August. Yaahooo! I love going to workout with him and we both push each other. We always end up racing each other on the track, then he wants to do pushups and I want to do situps, thus we both end up doing situps and pushups. My only wish is that he could've chased me on the track in high school, I swear my mile time is the fastest it's ever been. Probably not, but anytime I speed up to pass him, he speeds up too, and that's how the whole run goes on! I guess I just feel a higher level to impress when I'm running next to the man of my dreams.
The famous woman of steel tri athletes! Love them.

Yes it's Pink, and Yes I love it too... a lot! Except for when its chain comes off when I'm riding it up a hill. It's working on it, or maybe the rider is. :)

The dreaded hill.

Thanks for the fun tri day everyone. Shay you were missed so much. And D I'm so happy we get to do one together in August.

Second, Caleb and I took last Friday off and had a four day weekend. What do you do when you have no work for four days, no school, no church lessons to plan, no wedding receptions to attend, and no plans?! Head to Montana of course! My Grandpa Coil just celebratd 85 years of life so my dad's family held a big party for him. My dad has no family that lives in Utah so when we get to see them, it's a BIG deal. Caleb finally got to meet most of my dad's family. We spent the weekend playing Cubb, flying kites, climbing walls, telling jokes, and listened to storys about my ancestors who came across on the Mayflower, literally. And my favorite thing, I was in the car with the people who I love most for 17 hours. I love being able to spend time with my hubby and parents knowing that we're all stuck in the car with nothing else to do besides chat, and sleep of course. But really, I love hearing my dad's stories about bears and his childhood memories, and my mom's stories that she tells from when I was little. Caleb also shared mission stories which I always love. It was fun to get aways and have nothing to worry about besides relaxing and having a good time, and that we did.
My mom grabbed Caleb and I to get a few cute pics.

She flew a kite and laughed like I've never seen her laugh before. I will always remember this.

He climbed the rock wall that is just... on my uncle's living room wall!

We played this game called Cubb for a very very long time. We enjoyed it so much that Caleb and my dad went and bought the wood as soon as we got home and made 2 game sets with the help of the tools from Matthew's wood shop. I don't even know where/how to begin to explain the game other than you throw the sticks to knock down the blocks. Sounds fun huh? Well surprisingly it is.

Like father like son. Love them so much.

And all of this because two people fell in love. Happy Birthday Grandpa!

We got home late Sunday and ended the holiday weekend with a much needed bike ride on Monday and a party for Paul's 3rd birthday. We barbecued at the Perk's, played some more cubb, ate frog-eyed salad, and sat in front of the fire to roast some marshmallows. Thanks for the fun day everyone. Happy birthday Paul!

And finally, the best news ever, we get to see Shay, Porter, Carlee, and Tessa very very soon! It's been way too long and Utah just isn't the same without them. Porter do you think Caleb has time to finish riding his bike to your house before you get here?! Love you guys.

And one last thought... I came across an amazing video last night. Many of you know I started to play the piano in first grade. I took lessons up until ninth. I still love it and am lucky to keep up with some music on a fancy keyboard. Well a few years ago, I was playing the Waterfall by Jon Schmidt. My dad didn't know the title of that song, but he recognized the tune whenever it was played. Well one Saturday afternoon he heard it playing in the chapel while he was doing his bishop duties. Anyways, long story short, he walked into the chapel to see who was playing the song that he had heard me play on the piano over and over again everyday and little did he know, that man playing the song happened to be Jon Schmidt himsel! My dad said something like that is my daughter's favorite thing to play on the piano and Jon replied... well good because I'm the one who wrote that song. Jon had just recently moved to Centerville with his fam and was trying out the grand piano at the church. Because of that, I was able to go meet Jon at the chapel. He played a few songs for just me and my parents. He then asked me if I would like to babysit for him, and of course I did. The first time I babysat at the Schmidt house I was very surprised to not find a grand piano in their home. The joke then became, wow, you are one of the greatest players in the world, and yet you don't even have a grand piano in your house. After seeing this video, I'm pretty sure Jon has access to several grand pianos. :) This song is called Love Story (as in Taylor Swift's Love Story) meets Viva La Vida by ColdPlay. One day, one day.

Waaaahhhoooooo!

many things are bringing me excitement right now.
1. i am so lucky. one year ago he became mine forever!

on may 1st, we celebrated 365 days! we had a fun anniversary. we spent the weekend in park city, and no we didn't contract the swine flu. caleb bought me my first "teaching outfit" and a beautiful ring, and i bought him new b-ball shoes and some much needed clothes. we spent a few hours in a jacuzzi under the stars talking about the past, present and future. and little did i know, cindy, my mother-in-law, has had our wedding cake in her freezer for the past year. she got it out and caleb and i shared a bite. it was fun and brought back so many great memories from our special day.
2. i finished school! i didn't walk but am planning to do so a year from now. i know many of you are wondering why i didn't walk so here's the deal... all of my girlfriends who were in the program with me, who are now my close friends, aren't done until a year from now and i would love to celebrate with them next year. and two, the scholarship i was awarded after high school is good for four years, thus i can go to school one more year for free. if i would've walked and received my piece of paper which declares me a college grad, my scholarship would end. and the more schooling/credit hours i get beyond my bachelor's degree, the more money i am guaranteed as a teacher. every penny counts. so i signed up for some fun and EASY night classes for the fall, 1- piano (i'm so excited to start playing again especially since mom and dad bought me a nice keyboard for christmas), 2- aerobics (for those who haven't heard, i'm now teaching aerobics and health next year, and i've never taken an aerobics class before so it will help me teach the class. and as a side note, the principal at DMS originally wanted me to teach DANCE aerobics. ha, i bet most of you are laughing right now including me. we settled on the class, minus the dance part. maybe i'll let my students play dance dance revolution for class somedays.), 3- chemistry! i want to finish my chemistry endorsement just to have a guaranteed job for the future.
3. the woman of steel triathlon, which is just 11 days away.
4. the 4th of july, my favorite holiday.
5. many long bike rides and runs this summer with my man.
life is good. we are happy and sooooo in love.
